NYS Clean Heat
The statewide heat pump rebate program — the money that makes replacing a fossil boiler with heat pumps pencil out.
Rebates on air-source and ground-source heat pump installations, paid through participating contractors (usually as an instant discount on the invoice). Amounts vary by utility territory and system type; state rebates can stack with federal tax credits.
Customers of Con Edison, National Grid, NYSEG, RG&E, Central Hudson, Orange & Rockland, and PSEG Long Island. As of January 1, 2026, the residential track is limited to 1–4 family homes — larger and non-residential buildings (most congregations and businesses) are served through their utility's commercial electrification and C&I programs instead, which the same page routes to.

For a typical house of worship, the practical path is the utility's commercial heat pump track (e.g. NYSEG/RG&E “Building Electrification”), not the 1–4 family residential rebate. Ask before a contractor quotes you the wrong program.
Use the “Find Available Rebates” and participating-contractor lookup on cleanheat.ny.gov; the contractor applies the rebate. For non-residential buildings, start from your utility's commercial program page or ask Lightkeeper to route it.
