The pledge — in effect since July 2026

Trust is the product. Here it is in writing.

A service that asks for your utility bills and your board’s attention owes you its rules up front — all of them, on one page, dated.

SEC. 01The five articles
  1. Article 01

    Free for mission buildings, forever

Houses of worship and community nonprofits never pay for a Payback Plan. Not an introductory rate, not a freemium hook — the paid business tier and sponsorships exist so this tier doesn't have to charge.

  2. Article 02

100% of profits reinvested or donated

Whatever the $99 tier and sponsorships earn beyond costs is either put back into serving more organizations or donated to an environmental charity. We publish the ledger quarterly on this page: revenue, costs, what was reinvested, what was donated, and to whom.

  3. Article 03

    No commissions, from anyone

We take no referral fees from installers, contractors, or vendors. If a plan recommends a heat pump, it's because the math says so — nobody pays us to say it.

  4. Article 04

    Estimates labeled as estimates

Every plan carries the same scope note: recommendations, not engineering; estimates, not guarantees. Your own bill data, program facts, and our projections are always distinguished from each other.

  5. Article 05

    Your bills stay private

Uploaded utility bills contain account numbers and addresses. They are stored in a private drive accessible only to Lightkeeper's operator, used solely to produce your organization's plan, never shared or sold, and deleted after 12 months or on request — whichever comes first.

Changes will be dated and noted here — never silent.

SEC. 02Where a dollar goes

The paid tier exists to keep the free tier free.

SEC. 03The impact ledger

Every quarter this section will publish the numbers that matter: organizations served, dollars in savings identified and verified, kilowatt-hours and tons of CO₂e avoided (EPA eGRID factors), revenue, and where every dollar of profit went.

First ledger publishes after Q3 2026 — after the first batch of plans is delivered. Until then, this page stays honest by staying empty.
